Working with Geoids Musical Theatre – a non-professional but highly-regarded London-based theatre group that has existed since the 1930s, to produce promotional images for their production of “Crazy For You”, a musical using the songs of George and Ira Gershwin.

The musical comedy only has a history back as far as the early 1990s as it was a “jukebox musical” written especially to gather Gershwin songs together – regardless of this it has a feel of the golden age of musicals and has a well-known logo/image associated with it. The central image that we created photographically aimed to pay homage to this 1930s “cartoon” title but to add a contemporary treatment that would appeal to modern audiences – Strictly Come Dancing fans for example.
